Description

1.        The RFP is for Roadside Spraying within Mackenzie County. The Work must be done by a certified professional in accordance with the Industrial Vegetation Management Association manual on Industry Standards and Good Practice for Vegetation Management, and in accordance with Alberta Environment Guideline.
2.        The Contractor’s personnel must be of legal age (eighteen), possess a valid driver’s license and be certified to operate applicable spraying equipment, and possess an appropriate license (applicators or authorized assistant applicator).
3.        The Contractor is expected to provide, maintain, and pay for all tools, machinery and equipment necessary for the performance of the Contract.
4.        The County will provide the Contractor with the necessary product (herbicides) at the rate specified in the yearly CROP PROTECTION blue book. The Contractor will be expected to sign for all herbicide at the time of delivery or pick-up from the County’s warehouse.
5.        The Contractor will be expected to fill in daily and keep up-to-date a “Pesticide Applicator Logbook” as will be provided by the County and in accordance with Alberta Environment requirements. These documents will indicate:

a.        Where on the map spraying was done
b.        What herbicide was applied
c.        Rate at which herbicide was applied, etc.
d.        Time of application
e.        Wind speed
f.        Temperature
g.        Applicators name & Pesticide Applicators Number
6.        This RFP is for a three year contract: 2025, 2026, 2027 with a one year option to extend at County’s discretion. The Contractor will have the right to terminate upon completion in 2027.
7.        It is expected that the commencement of work will be June 10th of each year with the completion date of July 10th for the each year of the contract.
