M7 and M8 Hynes Escalators (U04)
The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (the "Authority") will receive sealed General bids for the John B. Hynes Veterans Convention Center MT and M8 Escalators (U04) at the administrative Offices of the Authority at 415 Summer Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02210, until 12:00 p.m. local time on July 29, 2026 immediately after which, in a designated room, the general bids will be opened and read publicly.
Sealed Filed Sub-Bids for the same project for the sub-trades listed below will be received at the same office until 12:00 p.m. local time on July 22, 2026, immediately after which, in a designated room, the filed sub-bids will be opened and read publicly.
Work of this project includes labor, materials, tools, equipment, appliances, and services required to manufacture, deliver, and complete a comprehensive in-truss modernization of two (2) 40-inch-wide escalators located in a parallel arrangement (M7 and M8) in the MCCA facility. Furnish and install a built front-of-house access barrier to shield the work zone and restrict public access during construction, including third-shift non-dark-day operations. Furnish and install a modular rental barrier to define contractor storage and staging area for the duration of each allotted phase. Electrical work includes reuse of existing feeders and conduits as well as new installation of new feeders and conduits, replacement of motors, drives, disconnect switches, truss pit lighting, controllers, service receptacles, and smoke detectors. Selective demolition of existing ceilings and walls is required to install new, all as more fully set forth in the Drawings and Notes.
A pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00am on July 8, 2025, starting at the Boylston Street Entrance of the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center located at 900 Boylston Street, Boston, Massachusetts. The pre-bid conference will be followed by a walkthrough of the site. Questions or requests for information, clarification or interpretation of the bidding documents must be submitted to procurement@massconvention.com in writing in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on July 15, 2026.
Each general bid on this contract must be accompanied by a copy of a Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) showing that the bidder has the classification and capacity rating to perform the work required. In order to be eligible to bid on this contract, a general bidder must be certified for the estimated project cost of $3,725,006.00 and for the following category of work:

Each general bid must also be accompanied by a Contractor Qualification Update Statement. The Authority will furnish copies of the Contractor Qualification Update Statement form to any bidder on request. Any bid submitted without the appropriate Certificate of Eligibility and Contractor Qualification Update Statement shall be invalid.
