  • Summary It is the City's intent of these specifications to enter into a one (1) year term contract, beginning January 1, 2026, for Liquid Phosphate. Deliveries will be made by order releases "as required" from the requesting departments/divisions.

2. PRODUCT REQUIREMENTS

The Contractor shall provide a Liquid Phosphate water treatment product that meets the following requirements:

2.1 Product 1

  • A 34.5% active blended phosphate liquid product containing 60% polyphosphate and 40%orthophosphate.
  • Specific gravity of 1.34±0.03 at 25ºC
  • pH of 6.3±0.5
  • Solubility (water): completely soluble
  • Certified under ANSI/NSF Standard 60 - Drinking Water Treatment chemicals.
  • Carus 8400 is a pre-qualified blend.  Alternates must be submitted to Dylan Doak, Water Operations Supervisor, at doakd@kalamazoocity.org at least two weeks prior to the bid opening.
  • The Contractor shall furnish a certified chemical analysis and SDS of the product with each delivery.

2.2 Product 2

  • A 32% active blended phosphate liquid product containing 15% polyphosphate and 85%orthophosphate.
  • Specific gravity of 1.34±0.03 at 25ºC
  • pH of 5.5±0.5
  • Solubility (water): completely soluble
  • Certified under ANSI/NSF Standard 60 - Drinking Water Treatment chemicals.
  • Carus 8700 is a pre-qualified blend.  Alternates must be submitted to Dylan Doak, Water Operations Supervisor, at doakd@kalamazoocity.org at least two weeks prior to the bid opening.
