Summary

The City of Thousand Oaks seeks a contractor to provide aquarium maintenance service at the Grant R. Brimhall Library by a qualified aquarium maintenance company to maintain and service the aquarium to the highest quality available.

The Thousand Oaks Library’s 3,600-gallon saltwater aquarium requires high-quality aquarium maintenance and careful attention to the fish and the aquatic environment. In addition to regular maintenance, cleaning, care, and feeding of the fish, the service provider must provide emergency care for the fish and the tank, if needed, in accordance with the attached RFP.



Background

The City of Thousand Oaks is located in eastern Ventura County and consists of 56 square miles. The City population is approximately 122,000. The City is a general law city operating under the Council/Manager form of government. The City Council is comprised of five members elected through district-based elections, with one member serving as Mayor on an annual basis.

Thousand Oaks is proud to have a City-owned library system, funded by an assessment on homeowners' property. The Thousand Oaks Library is comprised of one main facility, The Grant R. Brimhall Library, located at 1401 E. Janss Road in Thousand Oaks, and one branch library, the Newbury Park Library, located at 2331 Borchard Road in Newbury Park. The Library collection includes over 350,000 items and friendly staff to provide assistance.
