ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed bids for construction of the Lem Walker Street Waterline Improvements
project in Clifton, South Carolina will be received by the Commissioners of Public
Works of the City of Spartanburg (hereinafter called "Spartanburg Water") at the
Spartanburg Water Office, located at 297 South Avenue, Spartanburg, South Carolina
29306, until 2:00 p.m., August 6th, 2026. At that time and place, bids will be opened and
the amount of each bid, together with the name of each bidder, shall be announced.
A satisfactory Bid Bond provided by an acceptable surety (or the cash equivalent)
in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid shall be submitted with each bid.
Spartanburg Water reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive any
informalities in the bidding.
Performance and payment bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent
(100%) of the contract price will be required. The bonds must be secured by cash or must
be issued by a surety company licensed in the State of South Carolina with an "A"
minimum rating of performance as stated in the most current publication of "Best Key
Rating Guide, Property Liability."
Certificates of insurance naming Spartanburg Water as an additional insured and
with limits as noted in the bid documents will be required.
Contractors submitting bids shall be properly licensed in the State of South
Carolina to bid and perform the work on which the bid is submitted at the date of the bid.
Bidding Documents may be viewed and ordered online by registering with
Duncan Parnell via their bid room https://bidroom.duncan-parnell.com/. Registration with
Duncan Parnell is required to obtain the bid documents and be added to the official Plan
Holder's List. Addenda notification will be sent to those buying full sets from Duncan
Parnell via their bid room. The cost of bid documents and shipping is non-refundable.
Neither OWNER, ARCHITECT nor ENGINEER will be responsible for copies of the bid
documents obtained from sources other than from Duncan Parnell. If you need any
