Leduc County - Negotiated Request for Proposal - Right-of-way Spray…

Leduc County is seeking to upgrade the current TeeJet 840GS spray consoles in our four custom-built roadside spray units. These units are used to control problem vegetation along county rights-of-way. Five individual nozzles and one handgun that are independently operated through the TeeJet Radion 8140 spray controls will spray a varying width depending on the area of ground to be covered. The unit must be able to accurately track when and where herbicide application occurs within the right-of-way as well as the amount of herbicide applied.
Due to the age of the current consoles (TeeJet 840GS), they are not functioning optimally, are no longer being produced, and need to be replaced. With the advances in technology, Leduc County would like to upgrade to a unit that could provide additional functionality, specifically map-based job selection and assignment, wireless software updates, geo fencing, and real time fleet tracking (although fleet tracking is not a requirement). This new console should integrate into the existing Radion 8140 spray controlled non-injection sprayer and be able to operate five boom buster nozzles and one handgun independently, while accurately recording the time and area where herbicide application occurs.
