Lease of Courthouse Space for Food Services – Hidalgo County Courthouse

Hidalgo County invites qualified vendors to submit proposals for the lease and operation of a food service establishment located in the main lobby of the Hidalgo County Courthouse in Edinburg, Texas.

This opportunity offers an approximately 2,938 sq. ft. designated retail/food service space with direct access to courthouse patrons, including employees, jurors, attorneys, and the general public. The County seeks a vendor who can provide high-quality, affordable, and convenient food options that enhance the courthouse experience.

What We’re Looking For

Food Services: Breakfast, lunch, dessert, and beverage items (pre-cooked, grab-and-go, or prepared offsite in compliance with all health and safety laws).

Customer Focus: Quick service, courteous staff, bilingual capability (English/Spanish), and menu options that meet a variety of dietary needs.

Professional Operations: Clean, safe, and efficient service that reflects positively on the County and meets courthouse security requirements.

Fair Lease Terms: Competitive monthly lease payment to the County.

Reliable Partnership: Vendors with demonstrated experience, sound financial stability, and a strong track record of compliance.

Key Details:

Location: Hidalgo County Courthouse, lobby area (see Exhibit A).

Size of Space: Approximately 2,938 sq. ft.

Operating Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (will be allowed one hour before opening time and one hour after closing time to prep and clean the area). Additional catering services may be requested outside normal hours.

Limitations: No onsite cooking; Vendors may use off-site preparation facilities with proper permits and compliance.

Improvements: Vendor is responsible for outfitting the space (counters, display cases, furnishings, signage) at their own cost, subject to County approval.
