Laurel Run Bridge Repairs & Maintenance Project

Project Description: Muhlenberg Township, Berks County, PA will receive sealed bids online via PennBid until 10:00 A.M. prevailing time on July 17, 2026, for the Laurel Run Bridge Repairs & Maintenance Project. Bids shall be uploaded to Penn Bid. After which time Bids will be opened with results displayed publicly on PennBid. The consideration of the apparent low Bidder will be at the regular scheduled Township Meeting to be held at 7:00 PM on July 20, 2026.

The project generally consists of the repairs of stone voids and displaced stones throughout the structure, including rebuild of the masonry u-wings and spandrels after large tree removal, and the installation of a steel lining system of the Laurel Run Bridge. The Township will be providing the steel lining system through COSTARS.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the above-specified date for receiving, opening, and reading of bids, except as specifically may be provided by law. All Contracts exceeding $10,000.00 shall be performed in compliance with Executive Order 11246, entitled, “Equal Employment Opportunity,” as amended by Executive Order 11375 and as supplemented in Department of Labor regulations (41 CFR Part 60). In addition, all Contractors shall comply with the “Nondiscrimination/Sexual Harassment Clause” as required by Pennsylvania Executive Order 2016-05.
The wages paid shall be subject to the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act approved August 15, 1961, P.L. 987 as amended and supplemented, and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act of 1955, P.L. 744, No. 222, as amended June 25,1997 by Act 34 of 1997, 43 P.S. §§ 951-963, shall also apply to this Contract.
The Contractor and their subcontractors must be pre-qualified by PennDOT for the type of project work specified in order to bid the project.
A Pre-Bid Meeting to be held at the site is scheduled for June 30, 2026 at 10:00 A.M.
Muhlenberg Township, Berks County, reserves the right to waive any informalities in, or to reject any or all bids, and to delete any item or portion of an item without affecting the bids on the remaining items or portion of items.
