Larsen Power Plant Stairwell Extension

The City of Lakeland is seeking a qualified contractor to provide fabrication, shop drawings, and construction services of a stairwell extension at the Larsen Power Plant main building. The project consists of extending the existing stairwell structure to provide safe access to the roof level, per the attached structural drawings. These drawings represent the basis of design and intended configuration of the system. The selected contractor shall be responsible for field verification, preparation of shop drawings, fabrication, and full installation of the stairwell system.

The contractor shall review the provided design and verify all field conditions. Any discrepancies, constructability concerns, or required adjustments shall be brought to the City’s attention prior to fabrication. The vendor is responsible for ensuring proper installation and integration with the existing structure.

A mandatory in-person pre-bid meeting and site walkdown will be conducted at the Larsen Power Plant prior to bid submission. Attendance is required for all prospective bidders to review site conditions, ask questions, and fully understand the project scope.

Existing stairwell drawings are provided for reference. The proposed new stairwell extension and required modifications are identified in the highlighted drawing set. The new work will connect to the existing stairwell structure and extend access to the roof level. The vendor shall verify all field conditions and ensure proper integration with the existing structure.
