LANDFILL EQUIPMENT CLEANING

Greenville County is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide comprehensive industrial cleaning and degreasing services for landfill, transfer station, and support facilities. The project includes exterior and mechanical degreasing of heavy equipment (“yellow iron”), tipper and scale cleaning, building washing, transfer station floor and wall degreasing, and trailer washing. Services must be performed using appropriate equipment, including high-pressure washing systems, specialized wands, vacuum recovery units, and support vehicles, to ensure thorough removal of grease, dirt, compacted waste, and environmental buildup.

The objective of this project is to maintain critical solid waste infrastructure in a safe, efficient, and professional condition that supports equipment longevity, accurate scale operations, regulatory compliance, and a clean working environment for employees and the public. Regular degreasing of heavy equipment is also essential to assist County mechanics in identifying the source of fluid leaks, hydraulic issues, and electrical problems that can be concealed by accumulated grime. Vendors should demonstrate experience working in active landfill and transfer station settings, the ability to coordinate services around ongoing operations, and the capacity to provide responsive, scheduled, and as-needed cleaning solutions that minimize downtime and protect County assets.
