The City of Cambridge is currently seeking qualified firms or individuals to develop a comprehensive implementation plan outlining a detailed strategy for creating the Land Bank Authority of Cambridge. The Land Bank Authority of Cambridge (LBAC) was codified by Ordinance 1234 on March 26, 2024, to address issues of vacant, abandoned, and underutilized properties. Of the +6,000 residential properties within the City limits, approximately 900 are vacant as are several commercial and industrial buildings and vacant lots. Our mission is to return these properties to productive use for community benefit, focusing on housing, economic development, and environmental sustainability.
