Summary
Lakeland Electric (OWNER) seeks well-qualified and experienced Boiler and HRSG contractors to perform various scopes of work as detailed below. The work will take place during the Unit No. 5 Fall Outage, beginning on November 29, 2026, and ending on December 19, 2026.
This solicitation is a Request for Proposal (RFP) in which the Bidder will provide detailed accounts of their experience as an industrial boiler contractor capable of performing code welds on thin-wall HRSG tubes and heavy wall P91 piping, as well as providing other measurable & verifiable criteria to be detailed in the sections below.
Background
The HRSG at McIntosh Unit 5 uses waste heat from a Siemens 501G combustion turbine to produce superheated, dry steam and supply that steam to a Siemens steam turbine. The HRSG is a Nooter-Erikson steam generator, commissioned in the year 2000. It is designed to produce 553,360 lbs/hr main-steam flow at 1,832 psig and 1041°F at the HP superheat outlet. The HRSG is a three-pressure system with a low-pressure (LP) drum, and intermediate pressure (IP) drum and a high pressure (HP) drum. Siemens performed a "Flex Fire" upgrade on the 501G CT in 2020, increasing mass flow and exhaust temperature through the HRSG.
Recent borescope inspections have revealed indications in one of the Reheat desuperheater spray liner. The replacement spool is on-hand.
A portion of the Outage work will be performed on a Time and Materials basis and will be determined by inspection findings during the outage.
