Description
The City of Cranbrook invites you to submit a lump sum pricing for the Lagoon Laydown Area Civil
Upgrades. Work must be completed by June 15, 2025. The quote is to encompass the work outlined in
the attached drawings and include the following:
- Mobilization and demobilization
- Grading of both “laydown areas” with cuts and fills from -1m to +1m, including two small areas
with 3m cuts. The total approximate cut/fill volume is 1000 m3.
- Removal of 10 lock blocks and subsequent reconstruction of lock block retaining wall with
drainage pipe. The wall is to be two blocks high x 7.5m long. See details on page C-002.
- Construction of a berm across the front of the laydown area with native material. Berm
dimensions: 0.8m tall x 1.2m top width x 45m long
- Removal of 33m of existing 200mm PVC pipe for re-use with the next line item.
- Construction of 67m of 200mm PVC SDR35 sanitary drainpipe installed at 0.6% slope with
conventional bedding, backfill, and compaction. Includes 1 x 200mm 5-degree bend.
- Installation of 1 x 1050mm manhole (concrete base, riser barrel, lid, steel frame & grate)
- Installation of 1 x 36” catch basin (concrete base, riser barrel, lid, steel frame & grate) complete
with:
- Engineered base (0.7m of 5-10kg rip rap, 0.1m of 50mm fractured drain rock, and geo textile
encasement)
- High fines plug (refer to details sheet on page C-002).
- Construction of access road beside Geotube laydown area with 100mm thick cap of 19mm
crushed gravel.
- Construction of truck ramp up to proposed lock block Vactor dump area with 150mm
compacted 19mm crushed gravel top.
- Cutting and installation of 900mm HDPE culvert beneath truck ramp.
- Contractor to supply: 19mm minus crushed gravel, 5-10kg riprap, 50mm fractured drain rock,
pipe bedding material, grout, bolts/hardware, any other materials required to facilitate
construction.
The City of Cranbrook will supply the following:
- All concrete lock blocks
- 100mm flexible drainpipe with end plug
- 200mm PVC SDR35 pipe
- Precast concrete manhole assembly
- Precast concrete catch basin assembly
- Nilex Geotextile
- High fines material for the plug near the catch basin
- 900mm HDPE culvert pipe
All work is to conform to the City of Cranbrook Bylaws and Specifications & MMCD, latest edition.
