The District will conduct a pre-bid jobsite inspection tour to familiarize prospective Bidders with the project site and conditions. The inspection will be conducted on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 10 a.m. Attendees shall assemble at the public parking lot atop Lafayette Dam (3849 Mt Diablo Blvd, Lafayette, CA 94549), near the kiosk across from Lafayette Tower. This is the only time that the Lafayette Tower site will be open for inspection. The interior of the existing reservoir tower will not be open for inspection. The inspection will last approximately 2 hours.

The Prime Contractor and its subcontractors are strongly encouraged to attend the jobsite inspection where a "sign-in" sheet will be provided. Requirements of the District's Contract Equity Program including the Local Hire component will be discussed and explained at the jobsite inspection. Estimated Cost: $11,000,000 to $14,000,000
Description: Work includes demolishing the upper portion of the tower and shortening it to El. 460 feet; removing the existing manual valve operators for gates; furnishing and installing new operators, slide gates, stems and stem guides and replacing trash racks and fish screens outlets; constructing a new metal control house with crane on top of the remaining tower; retrofitting the west conduit by replacing the entire existing 24-inch ID steel pipe within an existing 60-inch conduit, providing supports as required, and extending the pipe an additional approximately 70 feet to the dewatered tower; retrofitting the east conduit by furnishing and installing and encasing a new 36-inch ID steel pipe and supports within the existing 60-inch conduit; and performing related required work.
