1 INTENDED PURPOSE AND APPLICATION / SCOPE OF WORK
The equipment described in this bid will used by the Industrial & Manufacturing Systems Engineering
Department (IMSE) to melt and cast alloys, especially magnesium alloys that requires vacuum or inert
gas.
Frequent use includes fabricating new magnesium alloys.
2 EVALUATION CRITERIA
The evaluation criteria utilized for this RFP may be based upon, but not limited to the following criteria:
Ability to meet or exceed specifications
Total cost to ISU
Customer Service Offered
Installation and Training Offered
Lead Time
Warranty
ISU reserves the right to waive minor differences in the stated specifications, if an offered system is found to be
substantially compliant, and its’ purchase would be in the University’s best interest.
Proposal Process and Ev aluation. The proposal process employed by ISU allows Suppliers latitude in responding
to the needs of ISU. The features and requirements stated Technical Specifications represent ISU’s best assessment
of technical requirements. Suppliers should communicate with ISU to ensure they understand the equipment
requirements of the university.
