Overview
Summary

The Sacramento County Water Agency (“SCWA”), is soliciting proposals from engineering firms (Consultant) to provide professional services to manage, design, and provide support during construction for a proposed transmission main in Keifer Blvd (Project), extending from Sunrise Blvd to Excelsior Road.

Background

The Sacramento County Water Agency (SCWA) was formed in 1952 by a special legislative act of the State of California. The purposes of SCWA are carried out through benefit zones. Zone 40 was created in 1985 to acquire funding and construct facilities for the production and distribution of groundwater and surface water for the beneficial use of the inhabitants within the zone. Zone 40 does not own, operate, nor maintain assets; it merely facilitates the construction of water supply facilities and acquires surface water contracts.

SCWA’s Zone 41 was created to operate and maintain public water systems in various locations throughout Sacramento County, including some areas within the cities of Elk Grove and Rancho Cordova. SCWA administers capital improvement and facility retrofit projects to expand and improve its water supply facilities to meet the needs of new growth, new regulations, and/or equipment condition. The Sacramento County Department of Water Resources, Water Supply Design section implements these water facility design and construction projects.
