Kevlar EXO Material

The U.S. Army Contracting Command – Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG), Natick Division in support of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command – Soldier Center (DEVCOM-SC) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract on a sole source basis to DuPont Specialty Products USA LLC located at 5401 Jefferson Davis HWY, Richmond, Virginia 23234-2257, under the authority as prescribed in FAR 13.106-1(b)(1).

The requirement is for Kevlar EXO ballistic protective material for research and development assessment. DuPont Specialty Products USA LLC is the developer of the required ballistic protective material, and they are the only known source for obtaining the product. DuPont is also the only known source for finished products constructed from EXO fiber, as they not only make the fibers, but they also produce all the finished fabrics that are made with EXO. As such, there are no other known vendors capable of meeting the requirements of this action.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 325220 and the size standard is 1,050 employees.
