KE3095167 - US 301 (Blue Star Memorial Highway) at MD/DE Railroad Crossing Geometric Improvements

This project, located in Kent County, is for the construction of pullout lanes along both northbound and southbound US 301 at railroad crossing #MD-DE 526 431 X located at Milepoint 3.62 of US 301. The pullout lanes are designed for vehicles required to stop at all railroad crossings as an alternative to vehicles stopping in the through lanes. The project extends 1,922 feet to the south of the crossing and 1,508 feet to the north of the crossing for a total distance of 3,430 feet (0.65 miles).

The work will consist of the following:

(a) Fine Milling and Resurfacing.
(b) Full Depth Pavement Reconstruction.
(c) Portland Cement Concrete Pavement.
(d) Traffic Barrier W-Beam.
(e) Shoulder Rumble Strips.
(f) Drainage improvements.
(g) Stormwater Management and Erosion and Sediment Control.
(h) Railroad Crossing Improvements.
(i) Maintenance of Traffic.
(j) Signing and Marking.
(k) Landscaping.
