Solicitation Description:

TJJD is seeking one or more offers to provide Youth telephone servicesand video call services for use in TJJD’s facilities and halfway houses. Communication between a Youth in TJJD’s care and their support system is a criticalelement of their treatment. As part of TJJD’s Texas Model, connection to acaregiver helps create a sense of felt safety for both the Youth and the adultin the relationship, which, in turn, helps lower stressful neurochemical responses in the brain during crisis moments. This connection will facilitate logical thought and actions to resolve issues that arise within the relationship. Youth whofeel liked and supported by their caregivers also develop better social skillsand do better in educational environments. All caregivers must be able to communicate with the Youth while in the facility, sothat these connections can grow and develop alongside the Texas Model skillsand strategies being taught to the Youth. Not only will the connection betweenYouth and caregivers be strengthened, but the Youth will also have the opportunity to help educate the caregivers on the Texas Model skills they are learning.
