This Request for Proposals (“the RFP”) issued by the BC Housing Management Commission (“BC Housing”) is an invitation to submit non-binding offers for the provision Junk Removal Services as further described in
Appendix D – Scope of Work, for various locations in South Vancouver Island, BC.

Key Elements
The following are some of the key elements of the Deliverables. The selected Proponent shall provide Junk Removal Services as follows:

a. Indoor CollectionVacant Suites. Remove all Junk primarily located inside vacant tenant units and in the common areas of the buildings.         High Volume Vacant Suites. Remove all Junk in vacant suites with significantly higher volumes of waste than usual. BC Housing shall identify such requirements to the Supplier in advance.        Occupied Suites. Remove specific Junk items from occupied suites.
b. Outdoor Collection
The Supplier shall remove all Junk located next to curb sides or BC Housing garbage enclosures/containers that is not appropriate to be placed in such bins. Typical items to be removed include, but are not limited to, mattresses, electronics, furniture, personal household items.

c. Construction debris
BC Housing forbids its staff, tenants, and contractors to dispose of any construction debris or hazardous materials on BC Housing sites. Under normal circumstances this type of waste collection is not anticipated. Occasionally construction debris may be illegally disposed of on BC Housing property. In such instances, the Supplier shall be required to remove the illegally disposed of construction debris.

d. Disposal
All Junk collected is to be properly sorted and disposed. All efforts should be made to divert waste from landfills through repurposing, recycling, and donating.
