JUDGE OF THE MUNICIPAL COURT

JUDGE OF THE MUNICIPAL COURT – The Town of Guttenberg is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Judge of the Guttenberg Municipal  Court. Applicants must comply with N.J.S.A. 2B:12-7 and must be available for an evening session.
Responsibilities include:

• Presiding over court sessions and rendering decisions in accordance with applicable laws and procedures.

• Maintaining order and decorum in the courtroom.

• Working closely with the Court Administrator and staff to ensure the efficient operation of the court.

• Preparing and signing all court documents, warrants, and orders as required.

• Performing other duties as prescribed by New Jersey statutes, court rules, and directives from the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC).
Qualifications:

• Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the New Jersey State Bar.

• Must have a strong knowledge of New Jersey statutes, court rules, and municipal court procedures.

• Prior judicial or prosecutorial experience is preferred but not required.

• Must possess strong integrity, impartiality, and sound judgment.

• Must meet all eligibility requirements as set forth by the State of New Jersey and the Administrative Office of the Courts.
