Title: Johnson's Beach Information Signs
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 12/30/2025
Due Date: 1/13/2026
Escambia County Facilities Management Department seeks quotes for installation of a concrete pad to support the Johnson's Beach Informational Signs. There will be two (2) concrete pads, one to be located at the southwest end of Theo Barr's Bridge and the other will be installed at Perdido Key Park 2 entrance. The contractor will also be required to install the digital signs on the concrete pads. The two (2) signs to be installed are Watchfire reader boards, model #2219iSA dated 11/21, dimensions 41" x 87".
The United States National Park Service (USNPS) has requested Escambia County assist in trying to control traffic along Johnson's Beach Road during high traffic times like spring break, holiday weekends, and events, such as the Blue Angels' Air Shows. During these times, the Johnson's Beach parking lots fill quickly, leaving traffic along Johnson's Beach Road in a jamb with no where to go.
By installing the USNPS signs along Perdido Key Drive, the traveling public will be notified in advance if the USNPS has closed the park due to not having sufficient parking or if the park closes due to an emergency.
