Scope

A. DHHS is seeking a qualified, experienced, and culturally proficient entity or entities to provide a program of ethnically and culturally based school and community-based youth development, family strengthening and behavioral health services for John F. Kennedy High School students and their families. The program must include program services that address:
i. youth exposed to violence,
ii. Unhealthy social media practices
iii. complex trauma,
iv. incarceration of the student, family, or both,
v. sexual and human trafficking,
vi. domestic and dating violence,
vii. excessive school related and daily life stresses,
viii. risky, violent, and sexual behaviors related to low self-esteem,
ix. gangs’ influences, gang involvement,
x. drug and alcohol abuse,
xi. drug dealing,

xii. anger management issues,
xiii. homelessness as well as lack of stable housing
xiv. refugee minors fleeing violence in the home and school,
xv. undocumented immigrant issues,
xvi. family crisis and reunification issues, or lack or parental supports for children
xvii. teen pregnancy,
xviii. sexual, physical, and emotional abuse
xix. bullying,
xx. Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, and Gender Non Conforming (LGBTQGNC) supports
xxi. risk factors which are barriers to wellbeing and academic success like work load stress, truancy, poor student-teacher relations, or student-family relations
xxii. Tutoring services and academic achievement services.

These services must be delivered in a coordinated and integrated fashion and must reflect the expressed interests and needs of the entire school community, participants, and their families.
