Contract Title.

2025 brand name or equal John Deere Gator XUV845R for the Bath VA Medical Cemter Dental Department.

Background.

The Bath VA Medical Center Dental Department requires a new side-by-side utility vehicle to replace its current model, which has exceeded its manufacturer s end-of-life and is no longer economically viable to repair. The department is responsible for transporting dental supplies and equipment between buildings 76 and 78 across the station. Due to limited vehicle parking availability, a compact and maneuverable utility vehicle is the most practical and efficient solution to meet the department s logistical needs.

Scope.

This procurement involves the acquisition and delivery of a 2025 John Deere Gator XUV845R or equal side-by-side utility vehicle. The vehicle will be used primarily for transporting detal materials, equipment, and supplies between designated buildings. Although the Dental Department will own the brand name or equal 2025 John Deere Gator XUV845R, the Facilities Management (Engineering Department) will conduct the preventative maintenance and be responsible for any repairs needed. Based on the maintenance parts the facility currently owns and stocks with Generic Inventory Principles (GIP) in the Engineering Tool Crib the John Deere Gator XUV845R or equal must be compatible with replacement parts described in Section 6, Salient Characteristics. This agreement between departments includes facilities to have the ability to use the utility vehicle to assist in heavy work load environments such as winter plowing. With that agreement in place the brand name or equal John Deere Gator XUV845R will meet the heights, width and weight requirements necessary to perform many facility department needs. It must also have the ability to quickly switch between facility owned attachments that are used on its current fleet of John Deere Gator XUV845R utility vehicles. These attachments will be listed under section 6 Salient Characteristics. Our campus style facility needs to ensure cost effectiveness by utilizing existing attachments compatible with the current model John Deere Gator XUV845R, avoiding unnecessary expenses on new, expensive replacement parts and attachments.
