Jesse Road Bypass 25/26 Timber Sale

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service is seeking sealed bids for the sale of timber. This sale is for a fourth-row operator select thinning on 227 acres of planted slash pine on Jennings State Forest (SFI Certified Forest #NSF-SFI-FM-C0245755) in Clay County, Florida (see attached maps). Timber to be removed include every fourth row and select trees in the leave rows to reach a desired basal area of 60-70 square feet per acre. Trees to be removed in the leave rows include diseased, forked, or suppressed as well as a portion of the intermediate and co-dominant to reach the targeted basal area. Trees with white bands should not be harvested. The Forester-in-Charge must approve of all skid trails and logging decks. Sale boundaries are roads, fire lines, wetlands or obvious timber type changes. The estimated volume to be cut is 8,014 tons of pine pulpwood, 1,305 tons of pine chip and saw, and 228 tons of pine sawtimber. This will be a twelve (12) month contract.
