Description
This is a Sources Sought Notice announcement only. The purpose of this notice is to conduct market research and obtain information from qualified potential offerors. No formal solicitation document currently exists. The Government is not obligated to nor will not reimburse participants for any expenses associated with their response to this notice. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to a particular acquisition approach. The Government will in no way be bound to this information if any solicitation is issued.

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Regional Procurement Office (RPO) West, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 20, on behalf of the Veterans Administration Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS) Seattle, WA is in the process of planning a requirement for Ultralow Freezer Service Repair.

The applicable NAICS Code is 811412, Refrigerator, household-type, repair, and maintenance services without retailing new refrigerators with a size standard of $19 Million.

The VAPSHCS is seeking a contractor to provide all necessary labor, supervision, tools, new parts, materials, equipment, transportation, and management necessary to refurbish one (1) Ultra Low temperature (-80) Freezer New Brunswick Model: U535, Serial number: 1006-1489-1112 for the Geriatric Research and Clinical Center located at VAPSHCS.
Scope
Rebuilding/Refurbishment of New Brunswick ultra-low temperature (-80) freezer

Objectives

VAPSHCS Geriatric Research and Clinical Center (GRECC) require that the freezer be transported from VAPSHCS to the service provider s shop where 1st stage compressor will be replaced and all other maintenance considerations shall be performed that are necessary to keep the freezer continuously running at -80°F for at least 3 more years. In addition to the compressor replacement this could also include replacement of relays, back flush (RX11 cleaning), cleaning the cabinet, and checking the capillary tubing for problems and replacing capillary tubing where needed and or any other considerations that are deemed necessary to keep the freezer running well. The complete refurbishment servicing shall not exceed 2 months from the pickup date and the delivery will be made to VAPSHCS Seattle. A 1-year limited warranty will be provided for the service.
