J&DR BUILDING MASONRY REPAIRS

The City of Charlottesville is requesting bids for RFQ 26-22 for J&DR BUILDING MASONRY REPAIRS . The scope of work for the J&DR Courthouse focuses on exterior restoration and preservation efforts. The project includes cleaning and repointing the existing stone stairs to restore their appearance and integrity, as well as repairing and repointing deteriorated areas of the brickwork to ensure long-term stability and durability.

In addition, the project will address the metal handrails by repairing any damaged sections and applying protective coatings through surface preparation and repainting. These improvements will enhance both the safety and aesthetic quality of the courthouse entry areas while extending the service life of the existing materials.

The J&DR Courthouse restoration project must be completed with special consideration for its active use as a functioning courthouse. Work activities such as cleaning, repointing, and repairs will require careful planning to minimize noise disruptions and ensure safe pedestrian access at all times. Temporary barriers, signage, and coordination with courthouse staff will be essential to maintain smooth daily operations during construction.
