Overview

Summary

Replacement of one 12,150-gallon single-wall tank at Solid Waste's Industrial Water Treatment Facility (IWTF). The tank is the Microfiltration Feed Tank that holds industrial water awaiting processing through the Microfiltration system. The scope of services includes: 1) an exact drawing of fittings placement, 2) tank and all necessary fittings and auxiliary equipment, 3) installation of the tank, 4) hydrotesting of the installed tank to place into service, and 5) disposal of the existing tank.

Background

Solid Waste operates an on-site IWTF to treat approximately 1.5 million gallons a day (MGD) of leachate/stormwater. The IWTF is a critical asset to (1) ensure site water levels maintain an inward gradient for regulatory compliance, and (2) supply treated water to the Waste-to-Energy (WTE) facility as cooling tower and process make-up water. As part of the treatment process, water is stored in the Microfiltration (MF) Feed tank and fed to the two Microfiltration systems.

The existing MF Feed tank has a leak and is at end-of-life and cannot be repaired.
