Title: ITQ# GR-25-37 Biohazard and Hazmat Cleaning Services
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 6/18/2025
Due Date: 7/1/2025
The Town of Davie is seeking to establish a contract for biohazardous and hazardous materials (hazmat) cleanup services on an as-needed basis. The objective is to maintain Town facilities in a clean, healthy, and safe condition for all occupants and employees.
The selected contractor will be responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, sanitizing, and disposing of biohazardous and hazardous materials. This includes waste not classified as regulated biohazardous material—such as hoarded items—that the Town deems appropriate for disposal under this ITQ. All disposal activities must comply with applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, including those of the U.S. EPA, U.S. DOT, and OSHA.
Services must include the cleanup of surfaces contaminated by bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids (e.g., semen, vaginal secretions, saliva, vomit, urine, or feces in significant quantity), and other potentially infectious materials. Additionally, the contractor will be responsible for hazmat cleanup, including but not limited to oil and gasoline spills. While hazardous materials are typically in liquid form, this does not exclude other states such as gases.
The informal quoting process is used when the Town estimates the total bid amount NOT TO EXCEED F.S. § 287.017(2), as amended, which is currently $35,000.
The Town of Davie is home to nearly 107,000 residents who live across a lush 35 square miles within central Broward. The Town's rural atmosphere, western-themed district, and sprawling educational complex foster an environment that separates Davie from all other municipalities in Broward County. Our green open spaces, numerous parks, over 165 miles of trail system, and the opportunity to live an equestrian lifestyle are amenities you can't find in today's growing South Florida.
