Scope of Services
The City of Milton is seeking Construction Contractor for the renovation of a 4740 square-foot city-owned
facility into a multi-use utility worker training and utility administrative operations facility.
The purpose of the renovation of this facility is to facilitate the growth of critically needed utility workforce
training programs in the area. The City of Milton (City) utility administrative operations facilities are located on
the corner of Alabama and Dixon Street; Milton, Florida (Parcel 34-2N-28-0000-24600-0000). Old City Hall
(5438 Alabama Street, Milton, Florida 32570) is scheduled to be renovated utilizing Florida Legislature
appropriated funds. Activities to include critical repairs (plumbing/electrical), floor plan modifications to
include a 20-person capacity classroom area with ADA access, and a ADA restroom.
Contingent on funding, the project could include alternative onsite utility equipment/supplies storage and
parking lot expansion. If procured, responders to this RFP would be expected to work collaboratively with the
City and State of Florida, Department of Commerce. Responders must have demonstrated experience in
providing such services and an understanding of the standards and requirements typical to perform the
work. The responders must hold and maintain appropriate certifications and licenses deemed necessary by
local, State and Federal agencies. Activities shall be completed in strict compliance with all local, State and
Federal applicable Laws, Rules, and Regulations.”
The scope of work includes interior upgrades to the existing building at 6794 Dixon Street in Milton, FL. Interior
upgrades generally include work in an existing multipurpose room, restroom, and storage room.
The multipurpose room will be converted to new Training Room that will require demolition and replacement of
existing interior finishes including floor, metal stud and gypsum board walls, acoustical ceiling, lighting, doors, HVAC
system, casework, electrical work, and plumbing.
The existing restroom will be converted to be handicap accessible restroom and will require demolition and
replacement of existing flooring, concrete slab, wall finishes, door, plumbing fixtures, restroom accessories, ceiling,
and lighting.
The existing storage room will be converted to a new IT Room and will require new interior finishes including
flooring, painting, electrical work, IT Racks, and new package HVAC unit.
All work related to the intent of the new work and upgrades as indicated in the construction documents are also
included in the scope of work.
