ITB: Shallotte Water System Materials

Pursuant to N.C.G.S. § 143-129, Brunswick County is soliciting sealed bids for specific materials related to the installation of water meters for the Shallotte Water Acquisition Project.

Bidders must offer all materials set forth herein. For compatibility with existing system components, except as otherwise noted, no substitutions will be permitted without Brunswick County’s prior written authorization, which may be withheld in Brunswick County’s sole and absolute discretion. All materials must comply with the County’s specifications as referenced in the Brunswick County Engineering Design Manual for Water & Sewer Systems . The needed materials are model-specific, and the only substitution permitted is for the plastic meter box, provided, however, that any substitution must meet the dimensions and specifications outlined in the attached Plastic Box and Lid Cut Sheet.

Materials will be purchased by Brunswick County on an as-needed basis only. The quantities referenced herein are for estimation purposes only based on current system information. There will be no guaranteed maximum or minimum purchases under the awarded contract.

Interested bidders must be able to fulfill all orders within thirty (30) days of an order being placed by Brunswick County. Notwithstanding the foregoing, for the meter boxes, interested bidders must be able to fulfill at least 25% of the order quantity within two (2) months of an order being placed by Brunswick County, and the remaining quantity must be fulfilled within six (6) months of the order date. Anticipated lead times must be included on the Bid Form Proposal.

Those interested should submit one (1) hard copy of the sealed bid.  Sealed bids may only be mailed or hand delivered to the following:

Sealed bids must be received no later than February 9, 2024, at 3:00 PM ET, at which time they will be opened publicly and read aloud in Brunswick County Public Utilities Operations Center Admin Conference Room located at 250 Grey Water Road, Supply, NC 28462. Sealed bids shall be labeled with the name of the Invitation to Bid and marked “SEALED BID, DO NOT OPEN.”

Brunswick County will not be responsible for the failure of any mail or delivery service to deliver a bid prior to the stated date and time.  Regardless of the manner of submission, any bid received after the stated date and time will not be considered. Incomplete bids or bids inconsistent with the required format may be disqualified from consideration.
