City of Alexandria -Gadsby's Tavern Museum located at 138 North Royal Street, Alexandria, VA 22314

The City has issued this Invitation to Bid (ITB) to obtain Bids from qualified Bidders and enter into a Contract for construction services to replace the aging roofs at Gadsbyâs Tavern Complex, located at 138 North Royal Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314, and if exercised by the City, the three (3) outbuildings in the rear courtyard (included as an add-alternate). The project involves removing and replacing the existing wood shingle roofing and standing seam metal/copper roofing over the various buildings within the Complex. This undertaking also includes the installation of metal flashing and applying a cold liquid roof to a designated small area on the East mechanical tower, as specified in the construction drawings and technical specifications (Attachments J-9 and J-10). Additionally, the lighting protection system shall be salvaged and reinstalled. All architectural elements attached to the roofs, including wood cornices, rakes, and dormer wood elements, shall be prepared, primed, and painted.
