SECTION 00 11 16 – ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID

Bids will be accepted under seal to the Owner for renovations to the Ishpeming School District No.1 located at

319 E Division Street, Ishpeming, MI 49849.

Owner will receive Bids at the office of Ishpeming School District No.1 address above, until 1:00 PM local time

on the 30th day of April, 2024, at which time and place the Bids will be publicly opened. Bids not received by the

indicated time will not be opened.

A pre-bid meeting and walkthrough will be held for interested contractors on April 24, 2024 at 1:00pm.

Project Description:

Base Bid (North Lot): Remove existing bituminous parking lot and existing building foundation below. Provide

new fill at foundation removal and provide a new paved and striped basketball court with (7) new parking spaces

& (1) ADA parking space. Provide topsoil, seed & mulch in all greenspace areas. Remove existing tree stumps at

the corner of Pearl Street & Third Street. Near the corner of Pearl & 3rd St., remove portion of existing concrete

curb & sidewalk to allow for new concrete approach apron and concrete dumpster pad (with no fence/screening).

Bid Alt #1 (West Lot): Remove existing asphalt above steam pipe tunnel, provide 6” of fill and compact, and

adjust grades to allow for proper drainage, then provide new pavement surface with paint striping. Remove

portion of asphalt cover and steel frame, provide fill & compact, the provide new asphalt. Provide HMA crack and

sealcoating surface treatment with new paint striping at all remaining parking areas.

Bid Alt #2 (East Lot): Provide HMA crack and sealcoating surface treatment with new paint striping.

Bid Alt #3 (South Lot): Provide HMA crack and sealcoating surface treatment with new paint striping. Provide

newly painted parking spaces along West side of Third Street adjacent to parking lot.

Bidding Documents for a Stipulated Price contract may be obtained by contacting UPEA, whose contact

information is listed above, in either paper form or as pdf documents on a flash drive, as follows:

Paper copy: for a $100 non-refundable fee

for a $50 non-refundable fee

Documents will also be available for viewing at the office of the Architect and at the following Builders

Exchanges: Iron Mountain-Kingsford, Marquette, Michigan, Northwest Michigan, and McGraw Hill

Construction-Dodge (Lansing).

Bidders will be required to provide Bid security according to the requirements in Section 00 21 13 - Instructions to

Bidders. Bidders are required to submit qualifications to the approval of the Architect and Owner with their bid.

Submit your Bid on the Bid Form provided. Refer to other Bidding requirements described in Section 00 21 13.

Bids are required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 45 days after submission.

Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities and to accept or reject any or all Bids.
