SWORD STREET FORCE MAIN REHABILITATION,
AUBURN, MASSACHUSETTS
The Town of Auburn is soliciting bids for the "Sword Street Force Main Rehabilitation" project.

Sealed Bids from General Bidders will be received until 2:00 p.m. prevailing time on July 30, 2026
The Work under this Contract includes, but is not necessarily limited to, cleaning, CCTV inspection, system
bypass setup and break-down, rehabilitation of approximately 2,700 linear feet of 16-inch sewer ductile
iron (Class 52) force main, rehabilitation of 1 blowoff structure, replacement of 1 air release structure,
installation of 2 permanent bypass pumping locations. All proposed work is suggested to be sequenced as
described in the Contract Drawings.
The time for completion of this contract including issuance of a notice to proceed, and/or receipt of fully
executed contract is:
- 120 Calendar days from notice to proceed for substantial completion (further described
in contract documents).
- 365 Calendar days from notice to proceed for final completion (further described in
contract documents).
A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at the Sword Street Pump Station located at 50 Sword Street,
Auburn, MA 01501 on July 15, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the pre-bid
meeting.
Bid Security: A Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Bid Bond issued by a responsible Bank, Trust of
Surety Company, payable to the Town of Auburn in an amount not less than 5% of the total bid amount is
required to be submitted with the bid.
The subject project is being bid and constructed as a "public works" project and subject to the applicable
provisions of MGL Ch. 30 Section 39M. Bidders must be able to demonstrate that all employees present at
the worksite have successfully completed the OSHA 10-hour training course. Commonwealth of
Massachusetts's Minimum Wage Rates, in accordance with MGL Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D inclusive,
are applicable.
The Town of Auburn reserves the right to omit part or whole of any proposed work to be performed, as
described in the Contract Documents, as may be required to maintain the total cost of work within
available funds. The Town of Auburn reserves the right to accept any Bid or to reject any or all Bids if it
deems it is in the best interest of the Town to do so.
