Title: Invasive Plant Species Treatment at the Doan Brook Restoration Near Horseshoe Lake

The purpose of this contract is to treat select invasive plant species in the project area for the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District’s (District’s) Doan Brook Restoration at Horseshoe Park. The project area is located along Doan Brook, east of Lee Road along the border between Cleveland Heights and Shaker Heights (Figure 1). The invasive vegetation management services shall include the treatment of invasive plant species within the approximate 50-acre project area. Treatment methods may include foliar, cut-stump, hack-and-squirt, as well as aerial (drone) applications. Treatment will occur during summer, fall, and early winter of 2025. Methods and schedules shall be determined on a species basis to ensure time and resource efficiency, long-term control, and the minimization of damage to non-target species. All treatments must be completed by December 31, 2025.
The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (Sewer District) protects public health and the environment by leading effective wastewater and stormwater management. As the largest wastewater treatment provider in the State of Ohio, the Sewer District spans 363 square miles, serves 63 communities and nearly one million residents, treats approximately 80 billion gallons of wastewater a year, and manages 489 miles of streams.
In addition to its award-winning treatment plants and laboratory performance, the Sewer District's Project Clean Lake construction program will reduce annual Lake Erie pollution by 4 billion gallons by 2035, while its Regional Stormwater Management Program addresses widespread inter-community problems like flooding, pollution, and erosion.
