Interpreting Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Project Description: The School District is seeking qualified firms to provide Sign Language Interpreters, Oral Interpreters, Transliterators, Captioners to students who are deaf or hard of hearing as specified on their Individual Education Plan (IEP) or 504 plan, adult students complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and to parents, employees or community members, upon request.
Services may be provided at any school or school district location. Services may be provided at locations outside of the school facility for activities including, but not limited to, field trips, sporting events or academic competitions. All Awardees must be able to provide services, as defined herein, to assigned students when required. School District will not accept denial of service, to include, but not limited to, the location of student or adult, lack of adequate staffing or the length of time service is required. Some students may require interpreting services for a specified period of time or for a specific class, while other students may need services for the entire school day. Services may be provided to individual students or for groups or classes of students. Services to parents may be provided individually at activities such as parent teacher conferences or in large groups such as for school assemblies or performances. Services to employees may be provided to access employment or to assist in on-going duties. Services to community members may be provided to access any school function or any official School Board meeting or activity. Services may be required at more than one location during a school day. This is to be considered one assignment. Interpreting services will be requested on an as-needed basis and there is no guarantee of work to be offered as a result of this RFP.
