Internet2 Membership

Binghamton University intends to renew our membership for Internet2. Internet2 is a consortium led by research and education organizations in the United States. It aims to develop and deploy advanced network technologies to support research and education. Internet2 operates an ultra-high-speed network infrastructure that connects universities, research institutions, libraries, and other organizations.

Membership in Internet2 provides institutions with access to this advanced network infrastructure, along with various services and resources aimed at supporting research, collaboration, and innovation. These services may include access to high-speed network connections, tools for data sharing and collaboration, cybersecurity services, and opportunities for participation in working groups and community initiatives. Benefits of membership can include access to cutting-edge network technologies, collaboration opportunities with other member institutions, and participation in shaping the future of advanced networking and technology for research and education.

SUNY intends to make an award under our discretionary authority, pursuant to NYS Education Law 355 (5) {a}, which is up to $125,000, for the above noted commodity / product or service.
