Scope of Services
The FCC`s E-rate program makes telecommunications and information services more affordable for schools and libraries with funding from the Universal Service Fund, “E-rate” provides discounts for telecommunications, Internet access and internal connections to eligible schools and libraries.

The School District of Manatee County (“SDMC” or the “District”), Florida is seeking RFP proposals from USAC approved and qualified firms (Bidders) to provide, in accordance with E-rate rules for the following services:

Internal Connections District E-Rate Equipment: All SDMC locations reside within the boundaries of Manatee County. SDMC desires to receive proposals for Internal Connections District E-Rate Equipment solutions as detailed in Attachment A - Internal Connections District E-Rate Equipment – Existing Sites.

1.        Please inform quantities for the following item, “Switches must connect to each sites core switch with 10-Gigabit LC LRM fiber Gbics”.
2.        Please inform quantities and topology for the following item, “Each IDF closet must support a single 10-Gigabit LC LRM fiber Gbic for connection back to the site’s MDF switch”.
3.        Please inform quantities and topology for the following item, “Each MDF closet switch design must be able to support up to a minimum of 240– RJ-45 autosensing 10/100/1000 PoE+ ports with 2 open 10GbE SFP+ transceiver slots (4 or 8 open module slots for support of 10GbE SFP+ transceivers or RJ-45 autosensing 10/100/1000 PoE+ ports or any combination thereof).
