Interceptor Replacement and Railroad Bore

The City of Steamboat Springs requests proposals from qualified contractors to replace a segment of sanitary sewer interceptor that requires boring beneath the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) to install a 36-inch diameter steel casing. The work includes removal and abandonment of the existing interceptor and manholes, installation of provided carrier pipe and casing, bypass pumping of the existing sewer during construction, all permitting and coordination with UPRR, and restoration within the City’s dedicated easement.

The City reserves the right to reject any or all qualification statements or waive any specification or requirement if it is in the City’s interest to do so. The City assumes no liability for the cost of preparing responses to this request or interviews, if interviews are conducted.

Questions shall be submitted, in writing only, vial electronic submission on Bidnet ( https://www.bidnetdirect.com/colorado/cityofsteamboatsprings ) no later than 12:00 p.m. May 20, 2026, A. Responses to all questions shall be issued in the form of an addendum no later than 5:00 PM May 22, 2026.  Proposers are cautioned not to contact other City staff during this RFQ process.   Failure to comply may result in disqualification.
