DEVCOM ARL requires a pair of press platens to replace damaged platens on the Collin Press 500 S equipment owned by Sciences of Extreme Materials Division, Polymers Branch. The following are required:

Shall have one (1) pair (one upper and one lower) of press platens
- The platens shall be compatible with existing Collin Press 500 S equipment and shall have the ability to be directly installed.
- The platens shall be compatible with the existing control system of the Collin Press 500 S, such that the onboard control system can control heating and cooling of the press platens.

The platens shall be capable to withstand 2000N force on a 7” x 7” mold, while using a 1” thick steel caul plate measuring 18” x 18” without damage or permanent deformation
- The platens shall be capable to withstand the above pressure conditions through repeated press cycles from room temperature up to 450oCelsius.
- The upper and lower platens shall be capable of independent temperature control
- Shall include on-site installation, start up, and training after the parts have been installed.
