The Veterans Affairs Animal Research Facility currently operates multiple RAIR HD Super Mouse 750 Micro Isolator systems. The RAIR HD Super Mouse 750 system and its proprietary airflow/manifold module are manufactured exclusively by Lab Products, LLC. No other vendor manufactures, distributes, or services this specific system. Competing Individually Ventilated Cage (IVC) rack systems (such as Tecniplast, Allentown, or NuAire) are not compatible with the VA s existing RAIR cages, lids, filters, airflow components, blower modules, established SOPs, or validated environmental research conditions.
Scientific reproducibility and environmental consistency are critical for VA funded rodent studies, and introducing a different IVC system would require revalidating environmental parameters, retraining staff, updating SOPs, and procuring new cage inventories actions that would disrupt ongoing research and risk compromising established study conditions.
The associated North America Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 334516 and the Business Size Standard is 1000 employees.
THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, Wednesday, August 12th, 2026. Information received in response to this notice must clearly demonstrate the capability of meeting the Government s need as stated above. Include any relevant information (specifications, cut sheets, brochures, capability statement, etc.) confirming the ability to supply the products and/or any services outlined in this notice. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government is not responsible for any potential costs incurred from interested parties desiring to respond to this notice.
