Intent to Award Sole Source

This procurement action is for the acquisition of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) spare parts for BEP Press equipment used for currency manufacturing. The required spare parts are described below:

BEP Item #MAP5387 - Key, Buhler P/N SDV -50041-010

BEP Item # MAP5388 - Spacer Sleeve, Buhler P/N SDV -85070-810

BEP Item #MAP5381 - Check Valve, VOSS ø6 2, Buhler P/N UNS -16301-001

BEP Item #MAP5382 - Filter Element 1, Buhler P/N UNS -29021-026

BEP Item #MAP5380 – Check valve VOSS ø10 Buhler P/N UNS -16301-003

BEP Item #MAP5386 - Wedge Foot, Buhler P/N SDV -50383-010

All spare parts required above are manufactured and are proprietary to Buhler Group. There are no other sources that are capable of supplying the required OEM spare parts other than Buhler Group. BEP does not possess the required capabilities in terms of labor, machinery or materials to produce these items. Therefore, the Government has determined that this procurement can only be acquired from the OEM contractor, Buhler Group.

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) intends to sole-source this requirement and award to Buhler Group. The applicable North American Classification Code (NAICS) is 333248, All Other Industrial Machinery Manufacturing.

This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive quotes. If you feel your firm can provide all the spare parts in the attached list, please submit a capability statement by 4:00PM EDT, November 22, 2024. The decision not to compete this requirement is within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must provide clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government.
