Integrated Zebrafish Housing system
Description
Oregon State University intends to contract for the provision of a fully integrated zebrafish housing system from Tecniplast USA as a sole source because of the contractor being the only provider able to meet critical parameters or timeframes to support the research and/or business needs of the university. Tecniplast is the only known supplier offering a zebrafish housing system that integrates automated feeding, centralized life-support monitoring, modular tank housing, and specialized tank washing equipment into a single platform. These features are essential for modernizing Oregon State University's Sinnhuber Aquatic Research Laboratory under NIH C06 funding. At the time of grant submission, OSU was required to identify a supplier, and market research conducted during that process confirmed Tecniplast as the sole provider capable of meeting technical and operational requirements. Competing vendors offer partial solutions but lack the automation and integration required to support high-throughput biomedical research. Additionally, Tecniplast’s system is compatible with existing equipment already in use at OSU, ensuring seamless integration and cost efficiency. An entity may appeal this determination in accordance with OSU Standard 03-010. Section 5.17 no later than the closing date indicated on the website. Appeals must be submitted to Procurement, Contracts and Materials Management at
