ADDENDUM NO. 1
INSURANCE BROKERAGE SERVICES FOR DURHAM COUNTY RISK MANAGEMENT
(RFP No. 24-012)
This ADDENDUM No. 1 forms part of Durham County’s Request for Proposals (RFP No. 24-
012) – Insurance Brokerage Services for Durham County Risk Management. All other
requirements of the original Scope of Services remain in effect in their respective order.
Receipt of this Addendum should be acknowledged on the Addendum
Acknowledgement Form included in the RFP document.
1. Bids are due by 2:00 PM EST on November 9, 2023.
2. The last date for questions was October 30, 2023, at 3:00 PM EST. Attached is a list of
the questions received and the responses provided by the project manager.

Please Provide us a detailed schedule of Insurance that includes your Current
Coverages, Effective Dates, Including SIR’s, Deductibles, Limits, Carriers, Total
Premiums, Etc.

Question 2 Is there a current Minority broker on the county’s program and if so, what is their
role and what % are they being paid?
Response 2 No.
Question 3 What are the primary concerns and exposures of the county’s risk Management
team?
Response 3 Cyber security, property insurance for newly built mixed use facilities, and
maintaining low retention for workers compensation excess coverage.
Question 4 What types of services is your current broker providing? Ie., Claims/Loss Control
Meetings, Stewardship reports ETC.

Response 9 Yes. Per the Instructions to Proposers: “The letter of introduction, section dividers,
detailed Resumes, forms and dividers are not included in this page limit.”

Regarding the MWBE requirements beginning on page 5 #6 of the RFP: – Please
clarify if a good faith effort only is the requirement of this RFP? Or is the required
goal for this specific RFP 25% MWBE participation applied towards the total
program revenue as opposed to a 25% countywide MWBE goal/participation on all
goods and services?
Response 10 Durham County’s RFP MWBE requirements is for a proposer to demonstrate in
seeking good faith efforts for minority participation. This requires the completion
of the MWBE forms as stated on page 9. Durham County has an aspirational overall
MWBE goal of 25% for all project categories and ethnic categories.
