Solicitation Description:

WMATA is seeking qualified firms(s) to provide all insurance brokerage, surety and risk management consulting services (WMATA currently does not utilize an ongoing surety program other than notary bonds but may have occasional need to explore and procure various surety products). One or more brokerage firms(s) will be selected based upon the capabilities, breadth of experience, and established underwriter relationships of the individual broker teams in the insurance line of business procured and the risk management services desired by the Authority. The objective is for the selected brokerage(s) to 1) secure the most comprehensive, stable and cost-effective insurance programs available in the markets; 2) provide requested professional risk management consulting services; and 3) to procure surety products as needed. The selected brokerage(s) will be responsible for servicing WMATA¿s existing and historical insurance programs. The Authority will award one or more brokerage appointments for specified lines of insurance and related risk management consulting services. This RFP contemplates insurance brokerage and risk management consulting services for a three-year base period and eight (8) one (1) year options. The successful brokerage (s) will be responsible for servicing the Authority's existing and historical insurance programs.
