Installing Above Ground Tanks: Diesel Fuel Tank & Used Oil Tank

The County is seeking proposals from qualified Vendors for Installing Above Ground Tanks: Diesel Fuel Tank & Used Oil Tank , in accordance with the terms and conditions and specifications set forth in this solicitation.

1. SBY FALLS UNDER THE FOLOWING GUIDELINES: for the 1,000-GALLON TANK LOCATION AND USE NFPA 30A (Section 4.3.2.7, 2021 edition)
   1. Permits tanks with a capacity of 6,000 gallons or less, located at a government facility, to dispense fuel to vehicles used solely in support of that facility’s operations.
   2. Based on this provision, SBY’s 1,000-gallon diesel AST that complies with NFPA 30A (Section 4.3.2.7) is not subject to the separation distances specified in NFPA 30A Table 4.3.2.4.
   3. This interpretation reflects MDE’s recommendation, and the new UL-142 tank with a top-mounted pump will be used exclusively for non-retail, government-vehicle operations, The Wicomico County’s Fire Marshalls office will accept this fueling configuration at the airport.
