Contract Award: It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible contractor whose submitted quote is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule. Other factors may also include a comprehensive review of bidders past work performance, and work capacity. Bond: A Bid Bond is not required for this solicitation. The Awarded vendor will be required to provide a Performance Bond as indicated on Attribute #4. Overview: The Iowa DOT is seeking competitive bids for the installation of a new exhaust system at the heated storage building in Ames as per the attached specifications and drawing. Estimated Project Start Date: April 7, 2025. (Start date to be coordinated with the DOT Project Manager. This is an estimated start date after all required documents are received) Project Completion Date: August 31, 2025. (This includes resolution to all punch list items, inspections and DOT final acceptance date typically used in construction bids). Communication: Until a contract is awarded the sole point of contact for the solicitation is the Purchasing Agent identified in the solicitation. All questions must be directed solely to the Purchasing Agent listed in the bid opportunity. We encourage vendor to upload all questions on or before the question cut off due date and time in ION wave. Responses to questions will be communicated out to vendors via DOT’s ION wave bid system. Bid Responses shall be submitted within DOT’s ION wave Bid System. Telephonic, email or facsimile responses shall not be considered. Site Visits: A site visit is at the discretion of the contractor. To schedule a site visit please email Teri Schulz at teri.schulz@iowadot.us with the requested date and time for the visit. Please give a 24-hour notice in advance of the requested date. Any questions that arise during the site visit must be emailed to Teri Schulz or submitted under the Questions Tab in the solicitation. Pre-Bid Request for Approval of Product or Materials: Please note the required DOT form for this is located under the attachment tab. Submissions must be on the DOT required form & attach supporting manufacturer specs sheet. Please complete the entire form. The form and attachments are to be emailed to teri.schulz@iowadot.us on or before the question cut-off date. Late submissions will not be accepted. This project is exempt from sales tax.
