The City of Bristol is seeking bids for surface treatment of asphalt via StreetPrint DuraTherm inlaid thermoplastic on North Main Street. Bid documents may be obtained at no charge by downloading from the City of Bristol website via the document link noted below.
Bids will be accepted untilĀ April 30, 2025 at 2:30 pm at the City of Bristol Purchasing Department, 111 North Main Street, 3rd Floor, Bristol CT 06010, at which time bids will be opened and read. Bids received after the opening date and time will not be considered for award. The City reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bid, to reject any or all bids, and to accept the bid that in its judgment is in its best interest.
Bidders must be able to present satisfactory evidence that they are capable and fully prepared with necessary capital, personnel, materials and equipment to do the work to be contracted for under this scope of work, as evidenced by references for not less than two (2) Connecticut municipalities for which similar work has been successfully performed.
Pursuant to Public Act 15-5, this contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including non-discrimination statutes and set-aside requirements. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract be set aside for aware to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services. The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals.
Each bid shall be in a sealed envelope addressed to the City of Bristol Purchasing Department, identified as "Bid 2C25-074 StreetPrint DuraTherm Inlaid Thermoplastic Asphalt on North Main Street" accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of 5 % of the bidders base bid amount, in the form of a Bid Bond made payable to the City of Bristol. The requirements for prevailing wage rates are to apply to the resultant contract award.
The awarded contractor will be required to secure a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract award, provided by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut.
The contractor will take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment, without regard to their race, color, religion, gender, or national origin.
