Summary

The County of Greenville is seeking sealed proposals for Infectious Medical Waste Disposal Services for various Greenville County locations including the Detention Center, EMS, and Animal Care.

The County seeks to establish a one-year contract, with the possibility of four annual renewals. The County reserves the right to award the contract to one or more vendors and may add or remove locations as needed.

The contract is set to commence on July 1, 2025.



Background

The County provides the following approximate annual waste volumes to assist vendors in preparing pricing. These estimates are provided for planning purposes only and do not constitute a guaranteed volume.

  • Detention Center: Medical waste collection averages approximately 4,100 lbs. per year
  • EMS: Medical waste collection averages 1,300 gallons per year, Sharps collection averages 36 gallons per year
  • Animal Care Services: Medical waste collection averages 820 gallons per year
