• Monitor materials delivered, their condition, and conformance with approved submittals

• Participate in pre‑installation and milestone inspections

• Support preparation of punch lists and verification of corrective work

• Assist with closeout requirements including inspections, documentation, and turnover items

2. Construction Management Support (Secondary Role)

The inspector will also support the VA Project Manager by:

• Reviewing contractor submittals and shop drawings for accuracy and compliance

• Tracking, updating, and maintaining logs for submittals, RFIs, changes, testing, and project schedules

• Reviewing contractor monthly invoices and verifying work‑in‑place against the provided schedule of values

• Assisting with review and processing of RFIs

• Reviewing schedule updates, flagging delays, and advising Government staff

• Participating in bi‑weekly construction progress meetings

• Maintaining organized electronic project documentation including daily reports, photos, meeting minutes, test reports, submittals, and closeout records

• Supporting assessment of potential contract modifications, cost changes, and claims

• Supporting pre‑construction survey documentation and coordination with cemetery staff

• Assisting with verifying permit status and ensuring permits are closed out at project completion
